Coffee roasted this week, not last season.
Coffee starts losing its aroma within days of roasting. The packet on a supermarket shelf may have been roasted months ago. We roast in small batches, grind to your choice and ship within 48 hours, so the first cup tastes the way coffee should.

Coffee has a short life. Most packets are already past it.
Roasted coffee is at its best for a few weeks, and ground coffee fades even faster as its aromatic oils meet air. Big-brand packets travel through factories, warehouses and distributors before they reach a shelf. Ours goes from roaster to your door.
🏪 Typical shelf coffee
- Roasted weeks or months before you buy it
- Aroma already faded, so it tastes flat and bitter
- No roast date, only a long "best before"
- You use more powder to get the same strength
☕ Durga Coffee Works
- Roasted in small batches and shipped within 48 hours
- Full aroma, rich decoction and a sweeter finish
- Roast date on every single pack
- Fresh coffee is stronger, so each spoon goes further

Arabica or Robusta?
The two coffee species taste remarkably different. Here's the quick version.
Which grind should I pick?
Stays fresh the longest. Grind just before brewing if you own a grinder. Best for any method.
For moka pots, espresso-style brewing and boiled "one-pan" coffee.
Made for the traditional South Indian steel filter. Also great in a French press.
Our picks for brewing gear
Honest suggestions for every budget, from a first steel filter to gear you'll keep for years.
Perfect filter kaapi at home
Add 3–4 spoons of coarse powder to the top chamber of the filter and place the press disc on it.
Pour hot, just-off-the-boil water to the brim. Close the lid.
Wait 15–20 minutes for the thick decoction to drip through.
Boil milk. Add 1 part decoction to 3 parts milk, sugar to taste.
Pour between tumbler and davara from a height for the froth. Enjoy.
Six decades of roasting, one simple promise.
Durga Coffee Works opened its doors on Subash Road, a few steps from Anantapur's Tower Clock, in 1962. Back then, families would walk in with a steel dabba, watch the beans turn from green to deep brown in our roaster, and carry the warm, fragrant powder home. That smell has filled the street every morning since.
More than six decades later, the promise hasn't changed. We choose our beans carefully from South India's coffee estates, roast them in small batches with the same patience we learned from those who roasted before us, and sell them fresh, never from old stock. That is why so many Anantapur families have made us part of their morning for decades.
Now the same coffee can reach you anywhere in India. Order online and we'll roast, grind and seal it for you, with the roast date printed on the pack, so you know exactly how fresh your cup is.
You asked, we answered
How fresh is the coffee when it reaches me?
We roast in small batches and dispatch within 48 hours of your order. The roast date is printed on every pack, so you always know.
How long does coffee stay fresh?
Whole beans taste best within about a month of roasting; powder is best within two to three weeks of opening. That's why we suggest ordering smaller packs more often rather than one big pack.
What is chicory and why is it in filter coffee?
Chicory is a roasted root that adds body, a darker colour and a mellow, caramel-like bitterness. It's what gives classic South Indian filter coffee its thick decoction. Our Special Blend has 30% chicory and the Ordinary Blend has 49%. Pure Arabica and Pure Robusta have none.
Which grind do I need for a steel filter?
Choose "Powder – Coarse grind". Choose "Fine grind" for moka pots and boiled coffee, and whole beans if you grind at home.
How long will delivery take?
Most orders arrive within 3–6 working days across India. You'll get tracking details on email, WhatsApp and SMS as soon as your parcel ships.
Do you offer cash on delivery?
Yes, COD is available on most pincodes for a small handling fee. You can also pay by UPI, cards, net banking or wallets.
How should I store my coffee?
In an airtight steel or glass container, away from heat, sunlight and moisture. Avoid the fridge, as coffee picks up smells and moisture.
What if something is wrong with my order?
Message us on WhatsApp with your order ID and a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll make it right. See our shipping & refund policy.
